About Me
Hi, I'm Shruti.
I believe therapy should help things make sense.
Having somewhere to talk openly about what you're carrying matters. But I also want our conversations to help you understand why you feel, think, or react the way you do.
So we'll get curious together.
Why does this particular situation affect you so strongly? Why do you keep second-guessing yourself? Why is it so hard to set a boundary you know you need? Why do you shut down, overthink, people-please, get angry, or feel guilty — even when another part of you knows better?
Our patterns don't usually come from nowhere. When we begin to understand what shaped them and what they're trying to do for us, they can feel less confusing — and we have more choice about what happens next.
What therapy with me is like
There will always be room for you to talk, feel, reflect, and be heard. When it's helpful, I'll also ask questions, notice patterns, offer another perspective, teach you what may be happening in your brain or nervous system, and gently challenge something that may no longer be serving you.
Sometimes we'll go deep. Sometimes we'll get practical. Sometimes humour finds its way into the room too.
My approach draws from evidence-based therapy, neuroscience, nervous-system regulation, Brainspotting, and practical skill-building. There can also be room for spirituality and meaning-making when those things matter to you.
Most importantly, therapy is collaborative. You set the pace. My role isn't to tell you how to live your life; it's to help you understand yourself well enough to make choices that feel like your own.
What happens when we begin?
Our first session is about getting to know you.
We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what's happening in your life now, and what you hope might be different. You share what feels comfortable, and we'll begin building an understanding of what may be going on and where we might start.
As our work continues, we'll regularly check in about what's helping, what's changing, and what you need from the process.
